Vaccinations:
Shot records are required at least 7 days prior to class start date.
All Dogs: Please have your dog’s shot records with you on the first day of class or mail them to us prior to the start of class.
Puppies: Must have their second series of vaccines and if your vet agrees, we would prefer that your puppy has a Bordetella vaccine prior to class -- the Bordetella vaccine is optional and the decision is up to your vet. Some vets like to give the Bordatella vaccine to pups AFTER 16 weeks of age. If your puppy has not had the second series of shots, you may still come to class without your puppy. As soon as your puppy receives the second series of shots, you may bring your puppy to class.
Dogs over 5 months: Must have complete vaccination records at least 1 week prior to the first day of class.
Having current vaccinations for your dog will help protect your dog but does not guarantee immunity from all illnesses s/he may encounter.

Well-Mannered Puppy Kindergarten
This is a 4-week class.
Limited to 7 puppy teams -- 8 - 20 weeks of age, but bring your family members over 6 years of age!
Puppies need a great head-start to become great dogs! Socialization in a safe, controlled environment is crucial in helping your puppy acclimate to the world around him. Games for greeting politely, coming when called, appropriate play with other pups. We'll help you with housetraining and crate training, handling your puppy, staying calm and still for grooming and vet visits, and teach you both how to connect with one another. Learn how to set yourselves and your puppies up for a lifetime of success!
Pups must have at least 2 sets of vaccinations and have been in your home for at least 1 week.

Walking Your Well-Mannered Puppy Level 1
This is a 4-week class.
Limited to 6 dog/handler teams.... but bring your family members over 8 years of age!
We will teach you to teach your puppy to LOVE walking with you on a loose, relaxed leash right from the start. Teaching your pup to turn to look at you when you say their name, to come back to you when they feel the leash tighten, to follow you when you start, stop, turn or just hang out to chat on the street, all lead to mental connection and lovely walks. No pulling, dragging, lagging, lunging, eating off the ground, these games and exercises will get you off to a great start!

Walking Your Well-Mannered Dog Level 1
This is a 4-week, 1.5 hour class for walking skills only.
Limited to 6 dog/handler teams.... but bring your family members over 8 years of age!
Walking your dog on a loose lead is what we all strive for, right? No pulling, sniffing, dragging behind or cutting in front of you would be lovely. But did you know that dogs have to be taught to hold a position next to you while walking? Pulling them back, holding them back, none of it works. This is a skill you both need to learn and practice. First we'll make sure you are using the proper equipment (available here to try out), then we get moving. Games and exercises to help make your walks enjoyable for both of you!
You will need to bring or purchase a 4' leash with a medium clip. Our preference is leather, as it gets nice and soft the more you use it. Handlers with nylon leads and heavy clips will be asked to change to a leash that is more comfortable for walking.
*No aggressive dogs, please.

|
Walking Your Well-Mannered Dog Level 2
This is a 1-day, 3.5-hour class for walking skills only.
Limited to 6 dog/handler teams. Family members over 8 years of age are welcome.
Pre-requisite: Walking Level 1
We start by reviewing our Level 1 work, then take the show on the road!
By changing environments, criteria and adding distractions we start to see where the holes are in our training. The goal for this class is to upgrade your handling skills and give you what you need to be able to stay connected with your dog, even in very distracting circumstances.
*No aggressive dogs, please.
